From neutral greys to rich aqua colours: these are the autumn trends for your interior

Commissioned by flooring and wallcovering specialist Tarkett, Dutch trend forecaster Monique van der Reijden is presenting the three main colour trends for this autumn. In this respect, natural materials and soft textures play a central role. Autumn 2024 is all about warmth, comfort and the return to nature in the home. These trends are also reflected in Tarkett's new collections. Sustainable floors and tailor-made rugs will contribute to a warm and inviting atmosphere in your home.

Everyone blue
At a time when sustainability and environmental awareness are more important than ever, the ‘Flow of Water’ home trend introduces the power of nature and water in your home. With blue as an accent colour, inspired by natural water sources, this trend brings instant calm and freshness to your interior.

New trend colour Teal
Tarkett's DESSO Asteranne, Canvas Weave and Touch Xtra carpets offer a range of shades of blue. From sky blue to the new trend colour Teal. Organic shapes can also bring a natural flow throughout the interior of your home. The DESSO Lush carpet collection by Tarkett offers calm tones, but with a twist thanks to the playful shape of the carpet. Moreover, the DESSO Canvas Weave rug’s pattern is reminiscent of the texture of sandy beaches and natural stone.

Home sweet home
Want to travel without leaving your home this autumn? Then check out the ‘Global Nomad’ trend. Inspired by authentic, ethnic cultures and crafts from all over the world, this trend brings a warm atmosphere to your interior with its colours and texture. Think furry and high-pile rugs, handmade designs and soft fibres such as wool and jute. The amber-coloured carpet with an organic structure from the DESSO Flagstone collection also fits nicely within this trend. Next to warm yellow, terra and green tones are the new favourite colours. This way, you can bring the warmth of exotic destinations into your home during the colder season with a terracotta version of the DESSO Lush: a broadloom carpet that adds a Mediterranean touch to the interior thanks to its colour and texture. An ultimate match for these colours and texture is a dark wooden floor. With the PVC floor Delicate Oak Brown, this complete trend gets a place in your home.

Very demure
The ‘Neutral Grey’ trend is all about tranquillity and simplicity, with a focus on subdued shades of grey that bring a serene and monochrome feel to the home. This minimalist living style is created with natural materials such as wood, mud plaster and concrete and can be finished with the DESSO Lush carpet and rug from Tarkett in colour 9107, a mix of grey tones complemented by details in blue and orange. The rug has a neutral, earthy tone and a unique bouclé structure, with a ‘twisted twill’ effect that creates a subtle organic look.
In turn, DESSO Shades collection, with its weathered industrial concrete look, nicely complements this trend. This hardwearing carpet can be wall-to-wall or custom-made. Thanks to its practical and weathered structure, it enhances the natural look of your interior.
